Grandma

My Grandma passed away this morning.
The red blanket is the one I made her for her birthday last year.
Please let me know if you would like any of these pictures or email me others to put up.
Thanks
Christa

Happenings

Some of you may already know that Georgie my budgie had to have surgery to have an egg removed in February. Well, she now has another egg. The vet is out of town until next week. So far she is doing fine.

I re-homed Petey and Polly with a nice lady out in Scapoose. She was recommended by someone at the bird club. I think they will do very well. Georgie sure does miss them. Hopefully now that the boy budgie is gone Georgie will not be so eager to create eggs. I do have a couple of pictures from their last night with me.

On a positive note, I joined Vancouver Fit. It is a marathon training club. No, I am not planning on doing a marathon. I just needed something different.
On Sunday I walked 3 miles. Next week is 4!!

My Christmas Goodies/Aunt Joan's Blanket

Aunt Joan made me this wall hanging and quilt for Christmas. The quilt features Ash and Junior.

The blanket is done. All I have to do is sew in ends and give it to her. I did three panels on the purple knifty knitter. I used two strands of Caron Simply Soft in Bone and Off White. I crocheted around the edges. Here is an up close picture.
I kept nice and toasty while crocheting the panels together.

Dog Sweater

My friend Tara has knitted her first dog sweater for her dog Milo.
She got the idea from the pattern on LionBrand. Tara used Cascade Wool and modified the pattern to fit Milo. No fun fur here!

Take a look....

Seattle Trip - New Year's Eve - Christa

My sister and I went to a yarn store called Nancy's Knits. Then we went to the Ram for lunch. Yum! We got cow chips for desert. (chocolate chip cookies)

Here is the trouble I got into. I actually did not find anything to spend money on. Joanna, however, got three skeins of yarns to have me make scarves for her.

This gorgeous yarn is so soft. It is made of 75% baby alpaca, 18% silk, and 7% nylon. I will be making this scarf on the blue Knifty Knitter. It will be a double stand and a keyhole scarf. It should work up light and lacey.

The next skein is Red Heart Light and Lofty. It is color 9617 Pheasant. I think I will do another keyhole scarf. This yarn works up really thick and cozy.

I will post pictures as I start on those projects. I need to finish Aunt Joan's lapghan today and then start on John's Dr. Who scarf.
I guess I better go knit!

Seattle Trip - New Year's Eve - John

John and I headed up to Seattle at 7:30am. He met some new unicycle friends and I visited my sister.

Here are some pictures of the trouble John got into. This unicycle is called a Giraffe and is 5ft tall.
